Center-Based Supports

Full Circle Pediatric Solutions has skilled and energetic board certified behavior analysts (BCBAs) and registered behavior technicians (RBTs) who use your child’s motivation and interests to deliver intensive, 1:1 ABA Therapy, anywhere from 5-30 hours per week, as determined through comprehensive behavioral assessments.

Parent interview, input, and concerns are critical factors in the identification of applicable and functional ABA treatment goals. Our ABA Treatment Plans and programs are supervised and monitored by a BCBA to ensure accurate ABA implementation with fidelity. Approximately every 6 months, your child’s comprehensive ABA Treatment Plan will be re-assessed, reviewed, and modified (with parent input) to reflect the ever-changing needs of your child.

Our therapists provide immediate and high reinforcement – such as bubbles, stickers, food, or whatever the child likes – to support the immediate and frequent attempts that help improve your child’s communication and skills. While edibles and toys are often used for early learners or difficult responses, these are faded to natural reinforcers that should maintain the specific response. Once a client has skill in their repertoire, staff will work with the client to generalize those skills across settings and people. Our goal is to help your child and have fun in the process.

School-Based Supports

Full Circle Pediatric Solutions can provide a wide array of support to school districts and/or individual students:

District Level MTSS-B Consultation

We offer support from a behavior analyst in training Tiers 1, 2, and 3 at the district and/or building level. Our board certified behavior analyst (BCBA) has received extensive training in behavioral multi-tiered system of support (MTSS-B) and school-based functional behavior assessment including the Prevent, Teach, Reinforce (PTR) model. This service can be customized to meet each district’s need and can include conducting a needs assessment leading to the development of short and long-term implementation goals, training and coaching on specific behavioral interventions, and/or data collection and analysis.

FBA/BIP and Independent Education Evaluations

Our board certified behavior analyst will gather information through direct and indirect methods such as interviews, records reviews, observation, data collection and data analysis. The information will be synthesized into a report to present to the IEP team with an accompanying individualized positive behavior support plan. The plans are written to assist the team with supporting the student, outlining how to increase and decrease specific behaviors of interest by modifying and preventing antecedents, teaching new skills, and reinforcing replacement behaviors. The Full Circle Behavior Support Team will train and coach the school staff on the implementation of the plan, ensure fidelity is reached, and evaluate the efficacy of each plan through data analysis.

Staff Training

Staff training can be tailored to specific needs of school-based staff or classrooms for any type of staff: teachers, administrators, behavior technicians, paraprofessionals, etc. Training topics may include data collection, identifying the function of behaviors, using reinforcement effectively, responding to problem behavior, increasing communication, and/or facilitating social skills. Trainings can be provided in a lecture style, with embedded role-plays and activities. Follow-up consultation sessions or trainings can be developed to build upon the knowledge base of a specific staff group.

Temporary Staffing

Full Circle provides districts with temporary short and-long term staffing solutions. Positions include the following:

  • Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Special Education Teacher
  • BCBA
  • School Psychologist
  • Registered Behavior Technician
  • Parent Trainer

What is Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)?

Applied behavior analysis (ABA) is a science dedicated to the understanding and improvement of human behavior. It focuses on identifying environmental variables that influence behavior of social significance. Socially significant refers to behaviors that may cause harm or interfere with the individual’s learning or development. Behavior analysts intervene to increase prosocial behavior and decrease maladaptive behavior while demonstrating a reliable relationship between the intervention and improvements by completing ongoing data collection and analysis. ABA programming focuses on the acquisition of new skills which could include replacement behaviors, academic, communication, self-care, motor, social skills, etc.  Additionally, behavior analysts program for generalization and maintenance to ensure that the behavior maintains over time and across different settings and people.

What are the components of ABA therapy?

Overcoming challenging behavior

  • A functional behavior assessment (FBA) is one of the first assessments conducted in ABA therapy when a child engages in challenging behavior. It is a comprehensive set of assessment procedures to help understand why problem behavior occurs so that the therapist can best provide intervention services. FBA involves an indirect assessment, direct observational data collection and sometimes a systematic, structured assessment called a functional analysis. The results can reveal a cause and effect relationship between a problem behavior and what is maintaining it.
  • Defining a plan: After assessing challenging behavior, specialists at Full Circle develop a collaborative function-based treatment plan with parents to reach a set goal. The team discusses the best therapeutic methods and measurements to best support the child and meet his/her needs.

Developing new skills

  • Systematic instructional procedures: Full Circle specialists are trained in the most-effective ways to teach children with autism. Some of these methods include discrete trial training, natural environment teaching, incidental teaching, positive reinforcement, shaping, and chaining.
  • Ongoing assessment: ABA therapy does not end when a goal is met. An effective behavior specialist will continue to support the client, revisiting instruction when needed. The goal is to help the child continually experience success with their learned skill, in different settings and as they grow. With the right interventions through ABA therapy, children can improve their behavior, build new skills, and reach their full potential!

Hundreds of studies have shown that ABA is the most effective form of autism therapy and is endorsed by the US Surgeon General. Behavior analysis is a recognized profession that requires specialized training and regulatory practices, overseen by the Behavior Analysis Certification Board® (BACB®). ABA Therapy has been endorsed by the following leading agencies as an effective treatment for autism:

  • American Academy of Neurology
  • American Academy of Family Pediatrics
  • American Academy of Pediatrics
  • American Academy of Occupational Therapy Association
  • American Psychological Association
  • American Speech-Language Hearing Association
