Act quickly if you have concerns about your child’s development
Studies show that early intervention can dramatically improve long-term outcomes
The younger a child is when they begin to receive help, the more we’re able to take advantage of early developmental cycles to improve their skills for the rest of their lives. Our developmental specialists can screen children as young as one-month-old.
What to expect
This is an opportunity to get a quick “snapshot” of your child’s abilities and find out if any concerns are present.
The screening will take about 20 minutes to complete. When finished, one of our developmental specialists in speech and/or occupational therapy will verbally give you his/her findings along with recommendations (there is no paperwork). Recommendations may include referring your child for a comprehensive assessment (through insurance) or providing you with ideas and suggestions for how to work with your child at home.
We will screen overall development in the areas of:
- Physical (reaching, rolling, crawling, walking)
- Cognitive (thinking, learning, solving problems)
- Communication (talking, listening, understanding)
- Social/emotional (playing, feeling secure and happy)
- Self-help (eating, dressing)
